One Acre Fund
Andrew Youn
Fellowship Awarded 2006

One Acre Fund's mission is to begin a revolution in chronic hunger alleviation in Africa, led not by food aid, but by African farmers. The vast majority of Africa's hungry are farmers who grow their own food; studies have shown that these farmers could at least quadruple their own farm yields. One Acre Fund unlocks this permanent growth potential for even the poorest of the hungry by providing a service bundle to farmers: farm inputs on credit, weekly farm education sessions, and access to world output markets.

Andrew Youn is the founder of One Acre Fund. Andrew's passion for this work stems from his lifelong involvement in empowering disadvantaged communities to stand on their own. Andrew graduated from Yale University with honors, worked as a management consultant to Fortune 500 companies with Mercer Consulting and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

One Acre Fund has a goal of creating total life-change for 30,000 families during the next three years. Learn more about One Acre Fund at www.oneacrefund.org.
